The stairs

So originally the main stairs were gross. We then removed the offending carpeting to find a little surprise. Behold!

Another bathroom update

I brought in lighting for this photo. Be astonished!

Time to restart windows

We removed an air conditioner in the kitchen tonight that looks like it's been there a REALLY long time. Note how they painted the window frame without bothering to close it.

Mega update extravaganzalkjwlerkjw: bathroom progress

Our new bathroom has been coming along slowly but surely. We found out early on that the damage in the wall of the shower had basically destroyed the wood behind it, so everything needed to go.
So long window!
New window:
Now with tub!
More to come....

Mega update extravaganza: new floors!

We got our floors redone this past week and the house is already looking MUCH better

The dining room was painted originally. We didn't know why until we realized there was a giant stain on the floor:

We'll be putting a rug there thank you very much.

The babies' room looks (and smells!) amazing.

And our room (which has no overhead lights) looks like a freaking dance studio.

So.  Yup, after years (literally years, like hundreds of days on end) of open houses, MLS searches, Redfin late night jam sessions, offers rejected, offers accepted, home inspections, offers falling through and all the other lovely stuff that goes with searching for a house, we bought one.  Yes, we finally bought a house!

The sheer joy of buying a home was somewhat short lived as we started on the actual buying process (who knew that the searching part was going to be the easiest part of this whole adventure) and then finally got our keys (sort of) on March 6th, 2014.

It is funny how you remember the rooms being bigger, the light being brighter, and that second bathroom being more vintage-y than dingy.

So this blog is just a quick way for us to share pictures with you all, document what I am sure is to be an enormously challenging journey (though fun too) as we take this little house and turn it into our home.

Welcome to our... blog.

So we bought a house. Here it is:
We're going to post pictures and stuff from our ongoing renovations. Maybe document some DIY stuff? We'll see. Either way, enjoy.
